SandBank From orientwind.com.ph |
Sumilon Island - This island is one of Cebu's best kept secrets and is found on the southeastern tip of the mainland. The island has an area of 24 hectares and is surrounded by crystal clear waters with varying aquamarine hues. It is 125 kilometers from Cebu City and is in close proximity to Dumaguete. It is the first marine protected area in the Philippines and was made a fish sanctuary in 1974 under the guidance of Siliman University Marine Reserve. Luh, I dont measure, description from Sumilon Bluewater site.

Sumilon Island Escape on mikegilkim.com nov. 2, 2016 |
The half of the island is for public while other is a commercialized resort, Bluewater Sumilon. The good thing about this is that, the public part of this island is far more beautiful compared to the resort. It has an awesome views not only with the nature but of course to the foreign bikini girls roaming in the beach.. lol. The amazing sandbank on low-tide makes this island more attractive to the people.

How to Get In Here
Of course we need a boat right? I don't expect anybody to come here swimming, lmao. From the mainland we need to pay uhmm .. of arround P2,500 for the boat that can carry 10-15 people, it's back and fort.
This island is open to the public from 8 AM - 5 PM. Nobody is selling anything to eat here, bring your own food dude.
It was a nice experience to be here, away from the city - know what I mean? Though my photos are not in good quality, lest you see.
